this was what my former boss used to tell me. and i have always kept that in mind in my dealings with people from all walks of life.
a similar idea was pronounced by the Supreme Court in a contempt case against a lawyer. the Supreme Court said:
"We concede that a lawyer may think highly of his intellectual endowment. That is his privilege. And, he may suffer frustration at what he feels is others' lack of it. That is his misfortune."
i hate people who are know-it-alls. i don't hate their conceit. i just hate their temerity to justify their "hurtful" actions by saying that it is the most logical and most natural thing to do. one day, i would love for them to get a dose of their own medicine.
