close to killing the mockingbird but nowhere near finishing the coverage for insurance

so i have an excuse for reading fiction. it's still required reading for problem areas in legal ethics for which i [i mean me and my partner] have to cough up a 7-10 page book report due next week. hay.. sometimes i wish i'd get paid just to read the kind of book i love to read.

anyhow, i'm halfway through "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. i am so fascinated by Atticus Finch's character. it makes me green with envy that Jem and Scout has him for their father, haha. the choices which Atticus made all throughout his life are more fiction than real. the idea that he could have sustained them is something that kept me wondering as to whether or not he has a real counterpart in this mad, wild, real world of ours.

anyhow, the idea behind killing a mockingbird is that, killing such a bird is a sin because the bird does nothing but sing beautiful songs. it does not even eat the plants, crops of the farmers nor does anybody any harm except sing. hence, it is considered a sin to kill a mockingbird.

i'm hoping i could finish reading the book tonight so i can get on with my voluminous insurance readings.
