relieved

last tuesday, my mother was up for a whole body check up. as it is, she is hypertensive. so to ensure less complications on her heart, she underwent 2D echo. luckily, her cardiologist cleared her.

however, when she went to her gynecologist, she was told to come back for the results the day after. according to her gynecologist, she wants to study the results because she saw that my mother's uterus was inflamed. my mother got scared because all of the patients who have lined up in the gynecologist's clinic have cervical cancer. more than this, we have already lost a family member to cancer.

the following day, as she anxiously waited for her gynecologist, she told me how scared she was. i mustered enough strength not to cry because i know she needs me also to be strong for her. the Lord must have been all ears that day, because when my mother was finally accommodated by her gynecologist, the latter had only good news to say. the gynecologist's impression was that, my mother's uterus was merely inflamed. no signs of cervical cancer were detected.

when i heard the news, i let out a big audible sigh of relief.

what can i say, it is bad enough that i have witnessed how my brother succumbed to cancer; i would detest having to relive such an experience.

thank God for sparing my mother from cancer.
