deja vu

it seems that history does repeat itself. today is no exception. some four years ago, the magdalo group staged a "coup d'etat" in oakwood. i have nothing against airing one's grievances. what i deplore is the fact that the manner of airing out is too banal. i have lost count as to how many people powers were staged, all within my lifetime. please, spare us all the indignity of being called a nation which is always in a revolution. pardon my outburst, but it seems that we have squandered all there is to learn in all those revolutions of the past. i will not be surprised if our forefathers are going ballistic in their graves. one revolution after another and it shows that what was sought to be quelched in the previous revolution is the same evil which is being fought today. the Philippines is in a vicious cycle of revolution without any signs of letting up. how are we to explain our revolution-ridden history sans the so-called new government?

hay.. what has the Philippines come to?

i realized i sounded quite angry in an off kind of way here.

it is not that i do not sympathize nor believe in the cause advanced by trillanes. it is just that, he knew it did not work the first time what was he thinking when he pulled that stunt again? did he rely on the fact that some millions of Filipinos elected him and that he could call on them at that time?

i mean i totally get that he is tired of a government which rampantly and blatantly steals from the nation's coffers and which claims to have upped the economic growth by this much percent but the effects are merely reflected on paper without any outward, tangible, physical manifestation of such a growth. who would not be?

but come to think of it, the commotion which ensued did not justify what they aimed to achieve. more than this, a lot of lives were rendered at stake. was that really worth the try?
