a preposterous idea

from an equally quirky individual..

a classmate expressed an opinion regarding marriage and how the time is NOW, when we are reviewing the bar subjects, that one should marry.

WHY?
by marrying now, my classmate would be free from the hassle of worrying about domesticities, such as cooking, doing the dishes, washing clothes, etc.

i retorted, "maybe what you need is a househelp and not a spouse."

the answer to that, stated quite simply was that, while a househelp can easily walk out of the arrangement, a spouse cannot as he/she is bound by the vows he/she made.

to this, i could only shake my head not in amazement but in amusement.

maybe my classmate hasn't as yet realized the obligations that come with marriage as my classmate even assumed that the would-be-spouse would consent to being a spouse-cum-househelp from the moment they marry until after the bar exams.

oh well, whatever floats your boat, as they, is enough to make you do one thing.

but i cannot, for the life of me marry just for the sake of convenience.
